It’s an unlikely pairing, but that’s not to say entirely impossible. The hot rod is a fiercely American invention, but this 1932 Ford is a little more international; it’s plastered with Ferrari badges. This machine runs a V8 engine sourced from an unspecified 1989 Ferrari and was built by celebrity auto builder Alan Lee a couple of years back, and is now up for sale for US$ 250,000.
The bright red, rear-wheel drive coupe’s body is made of fibreglass – not uncommon in the hot rod scene. The 3.0-litre engine is boosted by two big Turbonetics turbochargers, increasing maximum grunt to 950 hp. The rest of the car has been modernised, with disc brakes on both front and axles, independent rear suspension and a six-speed Tremec gearbox. This is not the first Ford-Ferrari though, as a Deuce Roadster body was combined with the engine from Ferrari 365 GT 2+2 back in 1970s.
