The long-awaited Aston Martin DB11 Volante has finally seen the light of day after being announced all the way back in May 2016. With prices starting at £159,900, the DB11 Volante is now accepting pre-orders with the first deliveries scheduled to begin in early 2018.

The defining feature of the DB11 Volante is undoubtedly its all-new 8-layer convertible roof, which combines the timeless appeal of a fabric hood with acoustic and insulation materials that cosset occupants from the extremes of weather and wind noise. The redesigned hood folds to a class-leading stack height, taking just 14 seconds to lower and 16 to close. The roof can be operated remotely with the key, or on the move at speeds of up to 31mph. Additionally, the new hood system delivers a 20 percent gain in boot volume compared to the outgoing DB9 Volante.

Specs-wise, the DB11 Volante is powered by a Mercedes-AMG-sourced 4.0-litre bi-turbo V8 paired to an eight-speed automatic powering the rear wheels. Similar to the coupe, the convertible produces 503 horsepower and 513 pound-feet of torque, allowing a 0-100km/h sprint in just 4.1 seconds, while topping out at 300km/h.
