Toyota to preview new Supra at Goodwood

After months of waiting, with race concept, different rendering images and spy shots in between, Toyota has confirmed the appearance of the new Supra at this week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Last week, Toyota just posted an image of the new car in camouflage along the caption “#ToyotaSupra is back. A90. At Goodwood Festival of Speed 2018” on Twitter, but now it has been confirmed that prototype of the production version will make daily runs on the festival’s hill course on 12 to 15 July. It will be driven by Chief Engineer Tetsuya Tada and Master Driver Herwig Daenens. The new car will be powered by a front-mounted, in-line six-cylinder engine and feature rear-wheel drive. The Toyota GR Supra Racing Concept and the Le Mans-winning N°8 Toyota TS050 Hybrid will also be present on static display at Goodwood.

In other Supra-related news, Toyota is bringing the iconic sports car to NASCAR Xfinity Series in 2019 season, which kicks off next February. The race version will match the feeling of excitement of the road-going Supra and will be scaled fit within NASCAR’s specifications for the series. Currently Toyota is racing with Camry in the Xfinity Series.
