Time To Get Dirty
Dirt 5 announced

One of our favourite off-road racing series has just announced its latest, and hopefully greatest, instalment. Codemasters recently dropped its first Dirt 5 trailer, stating that the new game will be available this October, and in addition to the usual platforms — Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One — Dirt 5 will also be released for the next-gen consoles, namely the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X.

Dirt 5 continues the franchise’s famous rally action. In career mode, players will be able to travel around the world with over 70 routes located across different parts of the globe, from a frozen New York, to the marble mines of Italy, and to the Favelas of Brazil. A dynamic weather system means that drivers will face unpredictable conditions including snow, mud, ice, and even electrical storms. Dirt 5 will also come with a mysterious new game mode that will be announced later this year, while split-screen for up to four players is offered for career and offline modes.

There’s arguably nothing more important for a racing game than the roster of vehicles available and from the trailer, we can see that Codemasters has gone in an interesting direction with the addition of cars more suited to the road — like Ford Mustangs and Porsche 911s — as well as the more at-home-in-the-dirt machines like the Ariel Nomad, the iconic Lancia Stratos, and modern off-road models such as the Citroen C3 R5.
