In early December we received the free updates from Forza Motorsport 7, Gran Turismo Sport and The Crew 2 – and with Christmas just around the corner, the holiday break is a great time to explore them one by one.
Let’s talk about Forza Motorsport 7. The December update is especially crucial to dedicated gamers playing with a steering wheel, as it introduces some important changes to the force feedback in Forza 7. The improved feedback is a full physics system, using the game’s suspension kinematics and tyre modelling for a more intuitive and accurate feel. That said, bear in mind that this new system completely replaces the old one, meaning any tuning has to be performed again from scratch. Additionally, the 2018 #1 BMW M Motorsport M8 GTE has been added to the game, in line with its return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans after a seven-year hiatus.
The highlights of the Gran Turismo Sport new Update 1.31 includes seven new cars, from supercars such as the 1995 Ferrari F50 and 2016 McLaren P1 GTR to muscle cars like the 1963 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray and 1978 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. The South Route for the infamous Tokyo Expressway street course as well as seven new rounds in the ‘GT League’ are also included in this update. Topping it all off – there are also newly updated spots in Christmas settings where you can take your car to get into the festive mood.
Open world racing game The Crew 2’s latest update features a new discipline called Demolition Derby for gamers to release a little bit of stress. As in real-life demo derbies, there’s basically one goal – destroy your opponents’ vehicles while keeping your own car safe. In game, there are two locations for the Demolition Derby – the famous Bonneville Salt Flats and a new circuit built in the heart of the Tucson’s aircraft cemetery. Additionally, the brand new PvP mode will allow up to 8 players to compete against each other in a free-for-all battle royale style play. Starting from Rookie Level, gamers will also be able to battle with others in Street Race, Hyper Car Events and more.
