Kross Studio 1989 Batmobile Desk Clock

Switzerland-based independent design studio and manufacturer Kross Studio has teamed up with Warner Bros. to create a sleek and stunning desk clock that pays tribute to the Batmobile from the 1989 Batman movie. The highly sophisticated project goes far beyond the usual film merchandise and has been developed in the finest detail.

The shape of the desk clock mirrors the exact curves and proportions of the Batmobile, with the bodywork alone consisting of 115 components. The main material used is a striking black aluminium composite with aeronautical grade scratch protection coating. Hours and minutes are displayed at the top right by two cylinders, with small bat-shaped decals on the sides of the display area indicating the time. One slight deviation from the original is that the smoked windows have a lighter tint than the original Batmobile so that we can catch a glimpse of the 397-component mechanical manual-winding movement through the windows. Running at a frequency of 21,600 beats per hour, the movement has an extraordinary power reserve of 30 days thanks to its special three-barrel design. A satin-finished and mirror-polished steel key-shaped with the Batman logo is included for winding the clock and setting the time.

The exclusive Batmobile desk clock is limited to 100 numbered examples, each priced at US$ 29,900.
