Thunder and Lightning
Pagani Huayra Lampo

While we have almost lost count on the number of Pagani Huayra one-offs, the latest example has certainly caught our attention. Partnering with Garage Italia Customs, Pagani has presented the Huayra Lampo (Italian for “lightning”), a tribute to the 1954 Fiat Turbina, the 295-hp turbine-powered sports car with a drag coefficient of only 0.14.

The Lampo references the Fiat Turbina primarily through its red and white paint scheme, even though the red on the Huayra is more on the copper side. The turbine power is of course absent on the Lampo, and the usual Mercedes-AMG-developed 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 engine with 730 hp can be found underneath the carbon fibre bodywork. Lightning bolts in the Italian flag colours can be found on the side mirror caps, sills and the callipers of the Brembo brake system. The cabin is fashioned in a retro look, featuring hand-woven leather seats and panels in brown and beige, as well as anodised aluminium surfaces in a bronze finish.
