Ferrari V12 Formula 1 Engine on eBay

The early 90s was a time when Formula 1 challengers were powerful, angry monsters. Powered with a V12 engine, the F1 cars back then screamed at a level that current F1 racers cannot compare. One of these V12 engines from Scuderia Ferrari has found its way to eBay.

The listed engine is a Type 044/1 developed for 1995 Formula 1 season. It was the very last season Ferrari relied on V12 while all other teams had already switched to V8 or V10. The engine capacity was reduced to 3.0 litres from 3.5 litres for meeting new engine regulations. Power could go up to 760 hp at a whopping 17,000 rpm while the team would list it as just 630 hp. The engine was fitted on the john Barnard and Gustav Brunner designed Ferrari 412 T2. Racers Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger took several podiums in the season with Alesi claiming the first place at Canadian Grand Prix.

This engine is listed on eBay by a seller from Florida for US$ 375,000. Perhaps listen to how it sounds and decide if it’s worth the price tag.
