The Real Smart Desk
Stir Kinetic Desk M1

Smart phones, smart watches, smart bracelets and even smart glasses and other intelligent products are often in contact with us, but it has further extended itself into the working office now. A year or so ago, America’s innovative company Stir was developing their Stir Kinetic Desk–a type of smart office table. Among its most significant features is its ability to automatically understand the sitting and standing posture of the user and make adjustments to prevent problems such as cervical spondylosis and other issues from happening. This time the team has decided to expand their production market, bringing on a new second generation series, the Stir M1.

Focused on enhancing all of the internal configurations of the hardware, its operating system Linux is now preloaded and an 1GHz CPU is embedded, with a 5-inch touch screen control which also supports Wi-Fi as well as Bluetooth wireless connectivity. The left front touch screen can be used to adjust the height of the table, with an adjustment range from 25” to 51”. If the user has been sitting for too long, M1 will use it’s internal software “Whistperbreath” to remind the user to stand up and stretch for a bit. Whats more is that the M1 can also be connected to Fitbit’s Bluetooth as its personal identification, automating the table to adjust itself to the suitable height. M1 comes in black, white and grey and is priced at US$2,990, those who are interested can visit their official site to learn more.
