Designed by the late Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid for Russian businessman Valadislav Doronin, the “Capital Hill Residence” is the one and only private residence that Hadid ever designed in her lifetime.
The project is located in the Barvikha Forest near Moscow and is comprised of entertainment spaces, an indoor swimming pool, fitness and massage areas, sauna and hammam, as well as guest rooms and exterior terraces, all set 22 metres above the ground.
The idea for the project was first started over a decade ago, when Hadid and Doronin met in London and sketched a design out on a napkin. Drafts of the project were first unveiled in 2008 and initial photographs of the project emerged in 2011. After years of developing, the house is finally complete.
