The New Way Of Driving
Mobility-R3 concept

As much as we like like sci-fi movies and novels and the different worlds that writers envisioned, we know that in reality it is difficult to recreate the technology projected in the stories. This is exactly the attitude we have for futuristic concept cars, like this one created by designer Dennis Cheng.

Dubbed Mobility-R3, the concept is developed for 2035 to combat traffic congestion problems. The futuristic car is design for one occupant only and is fitted with full autonomous driving, but it can also be manually driven if the occupant enjoy getting behind the wheels. The “R3” in the name refers to the three physical modes of the design. The Roller Coaster mode is like a typical car with a more comfortable lounge chair. When dealing with high traffic and narrow roads the car can transform into Regular mode with shortened wheelbase and an upright, almost standing driving position. Lastly there is the Roaming mode,  which basically works like a Segway. Admittedly the design looks far beyond 2035, but it’s still good to have something to look forward to.
