The New Three-Seat Supercar
T.50 Supercar by Gordon Murray Automotive

Gordon Murray has revealed details of his latest supercar, currently codenamed T.50. The grand tourer supercar is described as having the same focus and being better than the McLaren F1 in every area, and it’s difficult not to be excited about it.

Murray’s vision is to built the purest, lightest, and most driver-focused supercar ever, instead of breaking records on top speed and acceleration. He has opted for a Cosworth-built, 3.9-litre V12 engine that produces 650 hp and 450 Nm, and revs to 12,100 rpm max, making it the highest-revving naturally-aspired V12 engine ever used in a road car. All that power is sent to the rear wheels via the brand new H-pattern manual gearbox made by Xtrac. With extra light weight at 980 kg thanks to the carbon monocoque and carbon composite body panels, T.50 achieves a power-to-weight of 663 hp per ton.

The body is built on the F1’s highly-advanced aerodynamics, with new level intelligent management of underbody airflow and a 400 mm fan at the rear – a feature that first seen on 1978 Brabham BT46B Formula 1 ‘Fan Car’. Not much has been shared on the interior yet except it  will feature a central ‘jet-fighter-style’ driving position, two passenger seats and luggage space. T.50 intends to be an everyday supercar with great performance and spacious comfort.

T.50 will be built in the Surrey factory and strictly limited to 100 examples. Pricing will be set in excess of £2 million (before tax) and deliveries will begin in early 2022.
