GoPro has been leading the action camera market for years now, and with the launch of its latest model camera, the Hero9 Black, the brand clearly isn’t about to be knocked off its perch anytime soon.
Despite there being less than a year between the release of the previous model GoPro and the new Hero9 Black, the technical advancements on offer are pretty impressive. The Hero9 Black’s new sensor delivers 5K video with 14.7MP per frame max and records in a range of 1080p to 4K depending on which shooting mode is selected. For still images, it offers pro-quality 20MP photos. It also features a new, full-colour 1.4-inch front display that offers a live preview for easy selfie framing, while the rear touch display with touch zoom is also larger at 2.27-inch. With battery life always a key concern when shooting on the go, the new camera now has 30% longer battery life than its predecessor, and with the addition of better cold weather performance. Features such as the HyperSmooth 3.0 video stabilisation with in-camera horizon levelling and waterproof capability of up to 10-metres allow for all kinds of exciting activities to be captured in full.
The Hero9 Black is supported by dedicated accessories including the Max Lens Mod and Media Mod, as well as Light Mod and Display Mod for shooting with extra precision.
