The New Fastest?
Hennessey Venom F5

People always say the key to success is to have a definite goal. The team at Hennessey were clearly well aware of that when they developed the Venom F5, as they were determined to build “the absolute fastest road car on earth”.

Indeed the Venom F5 will, theoretically, be the fastest road car with a top speed at 484 km/h. It can accelerate from standstill to 300 km/h within 10 seconds, making it quicker than current Formula 1 race cars. Hennessey also claims that F5 will run from zero to 400 km/h and back to rest under 30 seconds, which will beat the record of 36.44 seconds achieved by Koenigsegg Agera RS last month.

These figures are the result of the F5’s power, lightweight and low drag: The twin turbo V8 engine will deliver over 1,600 hp and be paired with a 7-speed single clutch paddle shift transmission, sending power to the rear tyres; the brand new light weight chassis and all-carbon fibre body will give the F5 a curb weight of 2,950 lbs; the active aero on the car will yield a drag of just 0.33 Cd.

Hennessey plans to build 24 examples only, with a base price of US$ 1.6 million.
