The Near Future Of Driving
BMW Vision M Next Concept

BMW just unveiled the Vision M Next Concept at the company’s NextGen event in Munich.

The appearance of the concept is slightly reminiscent of the BMW i8 still, such as the gullwing doors for example, but the designers have opted for bold, matt neon Thrilling Orange colour blocks at the front and back to pair with the rest of Cast Silver metallic body. The dual kidney grille too is adorned with neon orange blocks behind it. Debuting on the concept is the Laser Wire lighting technology in the headlights for incorporating signature light designs.

Fitted with a four-cylinder gasoline-electric hybrid powertrain that output 600 hp combined, the concept can propel from zero to 100 km/h in 3.0 seconds and reach a top speed of 300 km/h. In pure electric mode the battery has a range of 100 km.

The gullwing doors can be opened by facial recognition, and stepping inside, the cabin design is equally interesting with ultra minimalist and futuristic elements. Opting for a driver-centred layout, the control area is now called the “BOOST Pod”, featuring an augmented reality head-up display at the top, curved glass centre display, and sleek digital dashboard display and steering wheel at the bottom, while the memory foam seat allow the driver to better connect to the machine.
