Bugatti Divo

With numerous teasers ahead, Bugatti finally unveil the latest hypercar Divo at The Quail, A Motorsports Gathering during the Monterey Car Week. Dedicated to Albert Divo, a French driver who won the Targa Florio twice in the late 1920s, the new car is limited to 40 examples and each has a price tag of 5 million euros, yet they are have all been sold months ago.

It is difficult to look at a new Bugatti without comparing it with Chiron, but Divo is different in may ways, especially its higher performance in lateral acceleration, agility and cornering through new aerodynamics programme, modifications to chassis and suspension plus weight reduction. While powered by the same eight-litre W16 engine with 1478 hp and its top speed is limited to 380 km/h, its lap time on Nardo handling circuit is 8 seconds faster than Chiron. The result is achieved by its 35 kg lighter weight, higher lateral acceleration of 1.6 g and 90 kg more downforce than the Chiron.

The 3-D rear light deserves a special mention. Being part of the rear grille, the 3-D printing process 44 lightweight fins of different sizes and they light up in forming the rear light of Divo. Other distinctive features include the front lights, the additional air intakes and the different rear diffuser with four exhaust,  the Naca air intake on the roof and the 1.93 metre adjustable rear spoiler.
