The long awaited four-cylinder roadster
Porsche 718 Boxster & 718 Boxster S

Last time Porsche released a four-cylinder engine model was 20 years ago with 968, so it is without a doubt that the new 718 Boxster & 718 Boxster S are something that people are longing for. The new mid-engine turbocharged roadster is named in tribute of Porsche 718 sports car with flat-four cylinder engine which won numerous races back in the late 50s and early 60s.

Needless to say, the new roadster is more dynamic and fuel efficient than its predecessor. The 718 Boxster is equipped with 2.0-litres engine, releases 300 hp of torque, accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds and has a top speed of 275 km/h. The 718 Boxster S is further geared up in displacement to 2.5-litres and 350 hp, while being more fuel efficient than the outgoing six-cylinder Boxster by 13%. The vehicle sprints from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.2 seconds and its top speed stands at 285 km/h. The appearance of the new 718 Boxster does share resemblance to the outgoing model but is updated with a more stylish and contemporary look. It turns out most body parts have been revisited except for the front and rear trunk lids, windshield and convertible top. The new roadster will be launched globally throughout the year and it’s time to place the order now – or risk missing out.
