The Living Connection
SYNC installation by Daan Roosegaarde

Exploring new worlds, and creating landscapes to feel connected with oneself and each other is the essence of design according to Daan Roosegaarde. The dutch artist has created an immersive installation named “SYNC” that combines light and music with a flexible membrane.

Premiered at Art Basel, the creation of SYNC was inspired  BMW Vision iNEXT. The immersive installation address the impact of human-centred design on space and translates the core messages of the autonomous driving concept, which highlight the interior interaction and connectivity between humans, vehicles and their surroundings in order to navigate effortlessly in cities.

Upon stepping into the immersive installation, each visitor creates a unique space by his physical presence and is indicated by a changing light, along the soundscape specially composed by the duo Tale Of Us. With more people experiencing the space, the installation transforms and connects individuals with not just the space but one another, illustrating how essential human interaction is for our sustainable future.
