The Highest Top Speed Maker
2019 SSC Tuatara

SSC is going to unveil the production model of Tuatara at Monterey Car Week later this month, after the original concept first debuted in 2011. Formerly known as Shelby SuperCars, the automaker describes the highly anticipated model as an “American” built next generation hypercar that boasts an unmatched drag coefficient, track-level handling characteristics, and a top speed that is projected to easily surpass the current world record.” Currently the record is hold by Koenigsegg Agera RS at 457.94 km/h.

While the official specifications will be announced during its launch, previous information states that the hypercar would feature a 6.9-litre twin-turbo V8 engine, running on 91 octane fuel and generating 1350 hp and 1733 Nm. Later it was suggested the output could reach 1700 hp. Seven years is not a short period of time in the development of automotive technology, so it is exiting to see what the 2019 SSC Tuatara will turn out to be.
