The Floating Chapter
Atlantic by Salomé Yachts

You may not have heard of the name Etienne Salomé, but he is the man who penned the exterior of the Bugatti La Voiture Noire, which is one of the most beautiful concepts launched this year. Now the automotive designer has branched out onto yachts and has established his own design consultancy Salomé Yachts.

Salomé unveiled the design from his latest venture at the Monaco Yacht Show earlier this week. Dubbed Atlantic, the yacht is clearly inspired by automotive even if it wasn’t named after the legendary Bugatti Type 57SC Atlantic. At just 12 metres, the nautical machine does not just reference the classic model but also borrowed a few tricks from Formula 1 challengers in terms of aerodynamics. Speed matters too for Atlantic, as it is powered by two 880 hp Volvo engines and pushed for over 55 knots. Only 12 examples will be hand-built in Italy for this streamlined yacht. Delivery is expected for 2020 and it’s priced at 1.6 million Euros.
