The Darkness Extends
Rolls-Royce Dawn Black Badge

Rolls-Royce launched the Black Badge Bespoke range last year with the Ghost and Wraith, in an effort to target their younger and more dynamic clients with a “restless spirit”. The range is now extended to the open-top model Dawn, which will debut at the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed.

The Dawn Black Badge that will be presented at Goodwood features a black canvas roof and black leather rear deck. The “deepest, darkest and most intense black to ever grace a production car surface” also required extra layers of paint and lacquer. The Spirit of Ecstasy mascot is fabricated with high-gloss black chrome and so is the front grille surround, boot lid finisher, exhaust pipes and air inlet finisher, while the interior is adorned with orange highlights.

It is not just the appearance that has been transformed. The Dawn Black Badge aims to offer an intense driving experience, and the 6.6 litre twin-turbo V12 now generates 593 hp and 840 Nm of torque, an extra 30 hp and 20 Nm over the stock version. The drivetrain, 8-speed gearbox, steering, suspension and brakes have all been tweaked. Together with a new exhaust system, a tighter, more spirited drive can be expected.
