As if the 500-unit 675LT Spider isn’t unique enough, McLaren just announced the McLaren Special Operations (MSO) Carbon Series LT, an exclusive edition with 40% more carbon fibre elements and strictly limited to 25 units globally. All are already pre-sold.

The Carbon Series LT is assembled similarly as the carbon-bodied McLaren P1, meaning all body panels are replaced with gloss finished carbon fibre. Compared with the similarly-speced 675LT Spider, the Carbon Series LT sees its electrically retractable roof and tonneau, A-pillars, bonnet and rear deck, side blades, both front and rear wings, and even the fuel filler flap fitted with gloss-finished carbon fibre. The Carbon Series also features new GT3-inpired functional louvres. While a significant amount of additional development work is required to assemble the Carbon Series LT, the same treatment is not adaptable for a gloss carbon fibre bodied 675LT Spider. The Carbon Series carries the same 3.8-litre twin turbo powertrain as 675LT Spider, outputting 666hp and 0-100 km/h acceleration in 2.9 seconds.
