California-based marque Singer is renowned for restoring and reimagining classic Porsche 911s. This month, it has unveiled its latest triumph — the Porsche 911 Carrera Coupe. This extraordinary machine pays tribute to the wide-body Carrera of the 1980s — restored with cutting-edge engineering and reimagined for a new generation of driving connoisseurs.

Based on the Type 964 produced from 1989 to 1993, the donor car is meticulously disassembled until only the steel monocoque remains. The chassis is then restored and reinforced with input from Red Bull Advanced Technologies.

The carbon fibre exterior features wide front and rear bodywork, with a deep front spoiler optimising cooling and airflow, while the rear fenders channel air to the engine. Owners can choose between a fixed wing or a speed-activated wing — just like in the Carrera’s heyday. Additional features include foldaway auxiliary driving lights hidden in the front hood and Michelin Pilot Sport tyres, completing a package focused on high-performance road and track driving.

At the Carrera Coupe’s heart lies a 4.0-litre naturally aspirated flat-six engine, developed in collaboration with Cosworth. Producing 420 hp and revving to 8,000 rpm, it features four-valve heads, variable valve timing, and Singer’s first use of water-cooled cylinder heads. Paired with a six-speed manual gearbox, titanium exhaust, and rear-wheel drive, it delivers a raw, analogue driving experience.

Inside, the reimagined 911 features stitched and burnished leather, bespoke gauges, and a refined blend of heritage styling with discreet modern tech. The interior also showcases Singer’s signature approach to personalisation: the sporty Celeste Passalacqua example with Mars Pink seats leans towards touring, while the Giallo Segnale version with a black interior makes a bold performance statement. Either way, the Carrera Coupe is a unique jewel — limited to just 100 commissions.
