The ‘120’
Globe-Trotter × Hypetex

The quality of suitcases carrying the Globe-Trotter label is a given, not only because of the brand’s 100 years of business triumphs but also for its persistent traditional craftsmanship recognised and loved by British Armed Forces, the Queen of England as well as Sir Winston Churchill. Besides from preserving its heritage, Globe-Trotter at the same time likes to collaborate with different brands, Alexander McQueen being just one example.

Recently, Globe-Trotter collaborated with Hypetex to celebrate its 120th Anniversary. Hypetex is the world’s first coloured carbon fibre brand, formed by a team of Formula One engineers with 20 years experience working with the material and seven years of further research. The coloured fibre can be used on speakers, furniture and other objects as well. The two brands have released a limited-edition run of 120 20-inch Trolley Cases, named the “120” Carbon Fibre series.

Globe-Trotter has traditionally made their luggage from vulcanized fibreboard formed from paper, but thanks to Hypetex, it now uses carbon fibre as the base material, due to its lighter weight and strength advantages. Together with Hypetex, the limited-edition lightweight “120” Carbon Fibre series, in both burgundy or black linings, maintains the classic design sense of Globe-Trotter’s simple yet elegant style.
