First seen in flesh in the local press event a few weeks ago, the Rimowa x Alex Israel collection finally hits the store in Hong Kong. From now until 15 June, the collaboration is available at the temporary pop-up store at Lane Crawford inside IFC mall.

Taking inspiration from the L.A.-based artist’s signature colour palette, the collection includes the first-ever Rimowa colour-graded suitcases produced with an innovative anodisation process. Based on the Rimowa Original Cabin Plus luggage, the two suitcases are of the same size but decorated with distinctive gradient colourways inspired by Alex Israel’s “Sky Backdrop” and “Untitled (Flat)” paintings. Each style comes with colour-matching wheels and details and a set of multi-coloured luggage tags. Launched with the collection are two special edition luggage sticker sets featuring iconic L.A. landmarks and Israel’s artworks. The pop-up store itself is equally fun, decorated with vibrant colours and features plenty of photo-op spots like mirror room, sticker wall and handmade ice pop bar that channels the Los Angeles vibe.
