Pagani Finally Introduces the Huayra Roadster

Pagani finally eased our seven-year-itch with the teased Huayra Roadster ahead of its formal debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.

During the Huayra introduction back in 2011, Horacio Pagani, the owner and creator of the namesake Italian supercar confirmed that there would also be a Huayra Roadster, but it’s taken seven years to finally see the light of day. It has certainly been worth the wait.

The significant difference between the formidable Huayra and the spectacular Roadster is the absence of a fixed roof. The Roadster offers two roof choices; one comprises a light carbon hardtop with a central glass element that gives it a similar appearance to the coupe, while the other is a fabric and carbon cover easily stored inside the car. The Roadster weighs 1,280 kg, surprisingly 80kg less than the Huayra coupe but with increased torsional rigidity.

Regarding specifications, the Roadster comes with a Mercedes-AMG M158 6.0-liter V12 engine producing 754hp at 6,200rpm and peak torque of over 737.5 lb-ft available from 2,400 – all transmitted through a 7-speed automated manual transmission engineered and built by Xtrac.

Only 100 Roadsters will be made, with prices starting at €2,280,000.
