As one of the signature Audemars Piguet collections, the Royal Oak Offshore Diver is a daring and sportier take on the original Royal Oak, and the latest 2021 edition has received some low-key updates to its distinctive octagonal appearance, as well as a new movement.
Retaining the original 42mm diameter, the Royal Oak Offshore Diver is offered in three contemporary shades for the dial and strap – Trailblazing Khaki, Navy Blue, and Pristine Grey – while keeping the overall sturdy stainless steel look for the case. The dial is decorated with a Méga Tapisserie pattern with new hour-markers, applied in pink gold. The AP logo on the dial is also brand new and is a modern interpretation of the full Audemars Piguet logomark seen in previous examples.
Powered by the new self-winding Calibre 4308 movement with second and instant-jump date indication, the new Royal Oak Offshore Diver has a power reserve of 60 hours, while the transparent case back allows appreciation of the delicate parts of the movement. The watch is water resistant up to 300 metres, and the interchangeability system for the sporty strap is another novelty of the latest release. The rubber strap with stainless steel pin buckle can be easily taken off by pressing the button at the back, and each Royal Oak Offshore Diver comes with an additional strap in an alternate colour.
