Subtle Star Wars Reference
Star Wars furniture collection by Kenneth Cobonpue

Fans of Star Wars will be delighted to learn some of the franchise’s characters are now immortalised in the form of furniture so you can bring your favourite character home. Disney and Lucas Film have collaborated with Filipino designer Kenneth Cobonpue to create a collection of furniture inspired by iconic characters and elements.

The collection includes three armchairs, an end table, a rocking stool, and two lamps. “We wanted to incorporate the essence of each Star Wars character into the designs, while staying true to our aesthetic and process of creating them by hand,” explained Cobonpue. “We reimagined the Star Wars universe through the lens of the Filipino craftsman and creative. Finding the balance was a bit of a challenge, but it was also a lot of fun.”

The pieces in the collection are sophisticated and stylish which will fit well into any modern home, even home owners who do not recognise the subtle Star Wars reference would appreciate the clean and modern silhouettes. For example, the Vadar armchair has the Vadar Mask hidden on seat cushion, achieved through meticulous stitching. The Chewie rocking stool is made of brown microfibre strips and wrapped with a belt to emulate Chewbacca and his bandolier. The Little Jedi lamps are equally fun, packed with miniature Jedi Knights and Sith Lord holding lightsabers to brighten your space.
