Louis Vuitton introduces the 'Vuitton New Runner'

Throughout the years, street culture’s substantial influence on Louis Vuitton men’s artistic director Kim Jones has led the French fashion house to collaborate with America’s most hyped-up street brand, Supreme and Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Japanese label ‘fragment design’, and shocking both streetwear and high-fashion communities.

The French fashion house’s streetwear-influence is evident in their new pair of trainers; the ‘Vuitton New Runner’, which combines classic, elegant design and Louis Vuitton’s signatures with the latest technical innovation. The Vuitton New Runner is the brand’s first full knit sneaker to be made in Italy. After spending months designing and constructing the silhouette, the shoe features a sock-like three-layer-yarn knit construction embedded with elastic to enhanced wearer comfort.

The Vuitton New Runner displays textile scratch tape and leather heel details along with a gradient hand-painted sole – a technique usually employed by the car industry. The shoe combines Louis Vuitton’s heritage of fine craftsmanship and excellence (each pair of shoes requires three hours of assembly) with upgraded active sports detailing.
