The Need for Speed franchise has come to the 25th instalment with the upcoming Need for Speed Unbound. The racing game series stands out from its peers with elements of frenzy action driving on top of standard racing, and the latest instalment continues with this spirit.

Set in the fictional city called Lakeshore, which is based on Chicago, the open-world game requires players to race against time, ducking the cops and avoid over spending on upgrades so that there is enough cash to enter into the Weekly Qualifiers, and eventually join the ultimate street race The Grand. The visual has taken on a new style, blending elements of graffiti street art with extremely realistic looking cars.

The full car list has also be revealed and there is a wide range of styles new and old suiting different tastes, from iconic classics including Aston Martin DB5 and Ford Mustang from the 1960s, modern limited editions like Ferrari LaFerrari and McLaren F1, to more accessible street racing machines such as Nissan GT-R and Subaru Impreza. The game even features A$AP Rocky’s custom Mercedes-Benz 190E.

Need for Speed Unbound is set for release on December 2 for PlayStation 5, Windows, and Xbox Series X/S.
