Koenigsegg Agera RS shot with Hasselblad

Koenigsegg recently teamed up with Hasselblad to capture the Agera RS’s land speed record attempt back in November. The images have just been revealed and they are simply stunning.

The Agera RS achieved five new world records for a production vehicle, including the top speed record with an average of 447.19 km/h, on an 18 km straight highway in Nevada. The automaker invited their Swedish compatriots from Hasselblad to join the event and the flagship 100-megapixel HB H6D medium format digital camera was selected as the choice of weapon, with photographer Toshi Oku shooting under the desert sun.

Oku used HCD 4-5.6/35-90mm and HCD 4/28mm lenses mounted on the Hasselblad H6D-100c for the project. Explaining his choices for the lenses, he mentioned the zoom lens was great for hitting all the sweet spots, while the sharp and wide-angle 28 mm was also nice to shoot with on a project of this nature. In the black and white images, the car’s curvature and strong lines are set against a backdrop of desert scenery and open highway. Filled with rich tones and sharp details, these images are more than commercial shots and should be appreciated as art.
