Brabham BT62 road-legal conversion

Brabham Automotive just announced it’s track-only BT62 supercar which can be converted into a road-legal version. However, it may come to be a surprise as a track-driven model.

“We designed the BT62 to be an unrestricted, thoroughbred track car, and our extensive test program revealed it to be all of those things. This isn’t a car designed for the road,” David Brabham commented. “With that said, it’s clear some customers are keen to have a road compliant option with their BT62, particularly to drive to and from the track. My father Jack was always customer focused, and we will continue with that ethos.”

The conversion comes with a £150,000 option on top of the base price of £1.2 million, and will be applied to the car prior to delivery. The package includes an axle-lift system for raising the ride height, an increase in the steering lock range, air conditioning, door locks and immobilisers, and high-quality upholstery for the interior. While the curb weight is slightly increased, engine output will remain at 700hp. Each car with this option will be admitted to an individual vehicle approval test which ensures everything from design to construction is complying with the regulatory and legal standards.
