Rare Porsches going under the hammer

An impressive amount of rare and classic Porsches will be going under the hammer at three separate upcoming events; RM Sotheby’s 2017 Rétromobile show week, Auction America’s Fort Lauderdale Spring Sale and Gooding & Company’s Amelia Island Auction.

Highlights of the RM Sotheby’s auction, which is set to take place in the centre of Paris on the 8th February, include a Porsche 959 Sport (one of 29 made) with an estimated price of €1.5-2 million, and a GT3 RS and GT2 Clubsport both estimated to cost their new masters a cool €200,000. Other cars of interest are a 1994 911 Turbo S 3.6, a 1955 356 Pre-A 1600 Speedster, a 1976 912E and a 1981 924 Carrera GT. Alternatively, if you were after something with a celebrity connection, the Fort Lauderdale auction is offering the Gulf-liveried RSK tribute that was driven by Bruce Willis in the movie Death Becomes Her.

If none of the cars mentioned above pique your interest, you’ll have to wait for the Amelia Island Auction in March, where a 1998 911 GT1 Straßenversion (only 20 were ever produced), a special GT2 RS and a GT3 RS 4.0 will be going up for sale.

If you are looking to get your hands on your dream Porsche, February and March might be a good time!
