Fastest Pitstop Time by Williams

Williams has dominated the fastest pit stop times in all eight Grand Prix races so far this season, but they reached an incredible new level at the European Grand Prix in Baku, Azerbaijan. The team achieved a new sub-two-second record while servicing Felipe Massa in 1.92 seconds, eclipsing Red Bull’s world record of 1.923 seconds at the 2013 United States Grand Prix with Mark Webber. However, since current pit stop times are officially logged only to the nearest hundredth of a second, William’s feat remains only on par with the previous record.

After experiencing botched pitstops in recent seasons, Williams focused on improving their relevant technology and procedures last winter, resulting in a significant leap in performance this year. Amazingly, at the start of this season, both Massa and Bottas were initially slower leaving the pits because they could scarcely believe their crew’s new speed.
