The work of renowned racing technical analyst and illustrator Giorgio Piola is often seen on Formula 1’s official website as well as other publications. For over 40 years the Italian journalist has been documenting the technical evolution of Formula 1 racing with his beautiful and extremely realistic illustrations. Piola has now branched out into watch design, and the latest style from his brand is now being offered on Kickstarter.

Inside the 46.5 mm steel case of the SHIFT Collection is a Swiss made custom movement based on the Ronda 5040.D chronograph, counting tenths of a second, seconds and minutes. A date function,  small second counter and tachometer are also featured on the racing inspired watch, while a tyre tread pattern adorns the strap. The timepiece has a water resistance rating of 100m and is available in four colour options — red, black, blue and green. Each shade has one of Piola’s F1 drawings engraved on the back, namely the Tyrrell P34 F1 race car, the Ferrari SF16-H steering wheel, detail of Ferrari SF17H front brake and the Mercedes F1 W07 respectively.
