Soothing And Satisfying
Uplift

English Designer Tom Lawton creates items that are both environmentally-friendly and possess a soothing outlook. Lawton’s latest work ‘Uplift’, which is powered by the sun and successfully funded through Kickstarter, might be his most satisfying work yet. Under a glass bell jar, there is a never-ending geometric spiral resembling a staircase (and whether it moves downwards or upwards depends on how you look at it), whose speed of movement increases with the intensity of the sun’s rays.

Not only built using recyclable materials, Uplift also needs only 1 MilliWatt to operate. You can put Uplift next to your window in sunlight, and the piece will move on its own during daylight hours and offer you a few stolen seconds or minutes to relax your mind after a hectic day at the office.
