TAG Heuer Connected Modular 45

With mechanical movement, made in Switzerland and water resistant, TAG Heuer is bringing us a new smart watch with features Apple Watch cannot offer.

TAG Heuer has partnered with Intel and Google to launch the second generation of Connected Modular 45 watch with press conferences taking place in Switzerland and California on the same day. The new watch is equipped with the latest Intel technology, GPS, an NFC sensor for payments, high definition AMOLED screen and customisable TAG Heuer dials. Google’s Android Wear 2.0 and the new TAG Heuer Companion app offer a much-improved software experience. All this technology can be used in the water as the watch is water resistant to 50 metres, so people who are into outdoor activities can still wear it all the time. Contactless payments can be made through the watch at enabled points of sale thanks to the NFC chip inside and via the Android Pay app.

The Connected Modular 45 has been designed, developed, and assembled in the TAG Heuer Manufacture, in La Chaux-de-Fonds in Switzerland with the same quality and high standards as other watches bearing the ‘Swiss made’ label. The case is made from grade 5 titanium, plated with 18K 5N rose gold or in black ceramic and with or without diamonds. Users can bring the smart watch to the next level by replacing the connected module with an additionally-purchased Swiss mechanical movement module, such as a 3 hands calibre 5 or even the ultimate expression of watchmaking craftsmanship – a tourbillon. It’s not just any tourbillon either, but the COSC certified, manufacture chronograph Tourbillon Heuer 02-T with a titanium and carbon case.
