Due to the constraints of power and control interfaces, wearable smart devices are still only sought after by a handful of technology enthusiasts and developers, making it still quite distant from our lifestyle. Withings, a smart and health product manufacturer from France has been trying to start the industry again by introducing their “non-intelligent looking” watch Withings Activité which monitors the body status of the wearer.

Withings Activité’s design is based off of a normal wrist watch and looks very similar with the traditional design, also having a large circular dial on the bottom right. Additionally though, they have added a “0-100” small dial which records the user’s number of steps, progress and sleep times everyday, all monitored by the watch’s built-in accelerometer. Offering also a vibrate and mute alarm function, users just need to connect it with the iPhone via Bluetooth to sync the statistics with their “Withings Health Mate” application. Withings Activité’s uses the Swiss watch sapphire convex surface and has a 316L stainless steel case which is matched Haute-Couture House’s calfskin strap. The watch has a 50 meters (5ATM) waterproof capability and is embedded with CR2025 batteries which can last for 8 months. With the black face and black strap style and the white face and brown strap style to choose from, it is priced at HKD $3,800.
