Sleek Electric Off-Roader
Rivian R1T

While there are plenty of automotive startups in the field, Rivian has impressed us with their debut model R1T. The off-road electric pickup truck is described as an “electric adventure vehicle” by Rivian, a category which also include the automaker’s upcoming R1S electric SUV.

Rivian R1T can be configured with one of the three battery options: 105 kWh, 135 kWh and 180 kWh, and the largest capacity one is able to offer a range of 643 km. The fast charging function can  achieve approximately 321 km of range in just 30 minutes, while there is also an 11-kW onboard charger for level 2 charging. All configurations has the same four-motor electric all-wheel-drive powertrain that sends 147 kW to each wheel and generates a combined 750 hp and around 1100 Nm of torque. While being fast might not be a highlight for other pickup trucks, R1T is able to reach 60 mph from standstill in just 3.0 seconds with the mid-range battery pack.

For people interested in its practicality, R1T has a payload of 800 kg and is able to tow up to 5,000 kg. The mid-size truck also can carry up to five passengers in its rather premium cabin. Rivian is taking order for the truck and first deliveries can be expected in late 2020.
