Parmigiani Fleurier Bugatti Type 390

High-end vehicles are defined by their incredible power, reliability and performance, metrics that can also applied to fine watches. Parmigiani Fleurier has been partnered with Bugatti since 2004 and the watchmaker has launched the Bugatti Type 390 as a tribute to Bugatti’s current model, the 1,500 hp Chiron.

Bugatti Type 390 is the fruit of four years’ development and its design elements are linked directly with the hypercar. The overall design is a celebration of curves, just like the Chiron. The calibre PF390 is housed in a cylinder with two series-mounted barrels that references the saddle tank on the Chiron. The 60-second flying tourbillon boasts an 80-hour power reserve, and can be seen at the end of the cylinder via the magnifying effect of the sapphire crystal. The worn screw is used for connecting the movement cylinder to the dial displays. The triangular barrel coupling system is patented, and the planetary gear trains inside features the smallest bearing in the world: just 1.28 mm in diameter, containing 12 ceramic balls in 0.2 mm diameter. Additionally, the movement of the watch can be removed from its housing, just like the engine of the Chiron can be taken out for modifications.

The Bugatti Type 390 is available in rose gold and white gold, with each version limited to 10 pieces only .
