Creating a Peaceful Environment

Whether in regards to the home or to the office, a comfortable and quiet environment has always been the common requirement for people when it comes to a space. In order to create the feeling of a spacious area with our growing population, the idea of open space planning and bright lighting effects have been emphasized. However, when it comes to the idea of open space planning, noise is always an issue; and if it is not handled properly, it would cause problems to the users of the space.

Sabine is a series of storage furniture designed by Johan Kauppi and Bertil Harström for Swedish brand Glimakra of Sweden, which specifically addresses the issue of sound wave problems in indoor environments. With two different sets of storage furnitures, “Roomdevider Storage Furniture” and “Workstations”, the prior not only offers storage functions but also acts as a space divider, whilst the latter is a combination set of two storage bins with an office desk. The office desk is also given a lot of hole openings for the convenience of setting up different electronic devices. The most crucial part of the furniture is that its outer surface is covered with insulation material which can absorb 125Hz to 400 Hz of volume, creating a peaceful environment. Available in white, green, gray and carbon gray, interested readers can visit the Glimakra website to choose their favorite size and color for their desired model.
