A German automotive company, Continental saw the demand for delivery service and invented a brand new delivery concept for people that rely on online shopping for their day to day life.  As if having futuristic concept such as drones delivering right to our door step is not enough , Continental added robotic dogs as  courier to the long list of delivery options. 

The concept combines the company’s driverless vehicle named Continental Urban Mobility Experience (CUbE) with ANYbotics‘ dog-like robot ANYmal. It offers a seamless service of delivery- each robotic dog carries a parcel on the back, and the autonomous pod carries theses robotic dogs to the area of delivery. Upon arriving the district, these dogs just hop out of the pod and run to the parcel recipient’ doorsteps. The robot is capable of climbing steps, ringing the door bell and unloading the parcel on the ground if the recipient isn’t available for pick up.

As much as we would like to see the concept come to life, the technologies involved in the project are far beyond us, and Continental still need motivation to turn the concept into reality.
