Ride Like A Jedi
Bandit9 L-Concept

Bandit9 Motorcycles has once again produced another must-have futuristic motorbike. The L-Concept’s sleek and minimal design features references to some of the most well known sci-fi films, but it is handled in a low key and skillful way that makes it a masterpiece whether you can decode its influences or not.

The L-Concept is built with a unibody tank, while the chrome plated stainless steel suspended engine is modelled after the reactor on the USS Enterprise in Star Trek. The engine alone takes over 60 hours to make by hand. The 5 white LED crystals on the headlight are said to be “fit for the darkness of space”. At the back, the red light grid serves as the brake light, rear light and turn signals, and relates to HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey. The L-Concept might look like a piece in the museum, but it is in fact made for the road. Powered by a 125 cc engine paired with 4-speed manual transmission, it has a top speed of 110 km/h. Bandit9 states on the website that 4 out of 9 L-Concept examples are still up for grabs at US$ 10,950 each.
