New Balance 1700 is a celebration of all things ’90s. These sneakers offer a casual street style with a vintage vibe, yet the modern elements for all-day comfort are still here with an ABZORB midsole absorbing impact through a combination of cushioning and compression resistance. The style is extremely popular, especially in Japan, so it’s no surprise that another iteration of the 1700 has been released.
With eye-catching blue mesh on the vamp and around the heel collar contrasting with a grey nubuck upper, the stunning M1700JP sports an embroidered “N” logo in electric blue and white stitching. “New Balance” and “1700” embroideries can be found on the back and side respectively, while white wordings of “1700” and “made In USA” adorn the tongue. If you think this blue with grey colourway looks familiar, that’s because the combo is borrowed from the classic premium running shoe that New Balance debuted in 1985, the 1300, which was re-released every five years and most recently in 2020 as 1300JP.
Priced at HK$ 2,199, the M1700JP is available from December 10th on New Balance’s official web store, as well as the New Balance Causeway Bay Fashion Walk concept store and selected New Balance stores and retailers.
