Retro-Futuristic Three-wheeler
Mille Miglia by Dechavesmotion

The original Mille Miglia open-road endurance race took place in Italy from 1927 to 1957. When we first heard of this tilting three-wheeler electric vehicle using the same name, we had to assume there was a link somewhere there, and we were right.

Designer and engineer of the Mille Miglia e-vehicle, Pablo de Chaves of Dechavesmotion from Barcelona, explains that tried to aesthetically create a bridge between the race cars of the 1930s and the future. The project was commissioned by Carles de Vera and the objective was to create a vehicle with the stability and safety benefits of a three-wheeler, and the handling of a motorcycle.

Pablo de Chaves has opted for a lower driving position in order to create a smaller front section, giving better range and a more exciting drive experience. In hindsight there are areas that de Chaves admits he might do differently if given another chance. For example he would prefer a less vintage headlamp for better matching of the overall futuristic look. Some kind of mudguard would also be needed for front wheel protection. Either way, Carles de Vera is working on the prototype using Zero Motorcycle powertrain with rear wheel drive, while the steering and suspension will potentially come from TreMoto.
