Karma Automotive, the California-based manufacturer, formerly known as Fisker Automotive, has just announced the launch of the Karma Revero for later this year. The company released the Fisker Karma back in 2011. Designed by founder Henrik Fisker whose design track records include the BMW Z8 and Aston Martin V8 Vantage, Fisker Karma was well received, but its production halted in 2012 because of the company’s dire financial difficulties.

The company has been restructured and with backing from Chinese automotive component manufacturing Wanxiang, it looks like Revero will receive a substantial launch boost. While little information of the hybrid 4-door sedan is available so far, Karma’s official website mentions the car’s solar roof can create enough energy to power the Revero, while the infotainment system will be a simpler and original concept. A countdown has begun on the official website for September 9th, so look for more on the revived hybrid soon.
