Honda Sports Vision Gran Turismo

Concept shots of a mysterious Honda sports car surfaced on the internet earlier this year, and we’ve now realised just what it is. While the Honda Sports Vision Gran Turismo only appears in the Gran Turismo Sport game, Honda took it so seriously that it built a real-life model and tested it like as if it is a production car.

The concept was created by the Los Angeles Honda design team and was later polished by both Japanese and US designers. The result could best be described as a “baby NSX”. With many carbon fibre components, the new Sports Vision GT weighs just 899 kg. It features a mid-mounted 2.0-litre turbocharged four-cylinder DOHC-VTEC engine producing 404 hp and comes with an eight-speed dual clutch transmission. The aerodynamics were tested in a wind tunnel using a full scale model, optimising the airflow and exit of air through the body, underfloor, cabin and engine room.
