Nissan GT-R50 production version confirmed

Nissan describes Italdesign’s GT-R50 as “the ultimate expression of the GT-R”, confirming the production design of the car as well as its hefty price tag of one million euros. As a 50th anniversary celebration for both the Nissan GT-R brand and Italdesign, GT-R50 production will be strictly limited to 50 examples only.

The exterior of the production car remains the same as the prototype revealed at this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed  – whilst the prototype was finished in grey with gold accents, owners can specify the main body and accent colours, as well as the motif for their interior and other customisation points.

It’s important to point out that the GT-R50 it is not just a normal GT-R with a re-bodied shell. GT-R50 features GT3-spec competition turbochargers and bigger intercoolers amongst dozens of new parts, and features a streamlined roofline that sits 54 mm lower than the standard. Mechanically, this means the car’s factory twin-turbo 3.8-litre V6 has been upgraded to a eye-opening 710 hp power output with 780 Nm of torque. This will be an interesting car to watch – deliveries are scheduled to begin in 2019.
