Hailing from Budapest, Hungary, tuning specialist KAMManufaktur is dedicated to a single automaker — Porsche. More specifically, the 912, which KAMM considers the first and purest generation from the marque. So much so, in fact, that the company specialises exclusively in building carbon-fibre 912 restomods. Its latest creation is a one-off 912c Targa, designed for a surfing trip — and most importantly, it’s available for sale to the general public.
The Porsche 912 was produced between 1965 and 1969 as an entry-level variant of the 911, with just over 30,000 examples built. KAMM’s 912c Targa launch model began life as an original 1968 soft-window 912 Targa, originally registered in Belgium. It’s powered by a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine producing 190 hp, with a 7,200 rpm redline. As with all KAMM builds, it has been meticulously restored with a reinforced body and chassis — and in this particular case, re-engineered with semi-carbon-fibre bodywork. Despite the additional strengthening, the 912c Targa remains remarkably lightweight at approximately 750 kg.
What makes this 912c Targa stand out is its period-correct Tangerine paintwork, paired with a tobacco leather interior featuring Porsche Pasha inserts. The exterior is further distinguished by KAMM aluminium steel-lookalike wheels, Cibie spotlights, a carbon roof rack, and a custom KAMM surfboard.
While this may be an unconventional take on the 912c Targa, KAMM offers a fully bespoke service, ensuring owners can tailor their car exactly as they envision — whether that be for the track, the road, or even the beach.
