We have come across many classic race cars, but this one is a bit different. The Avanti Gara is an “elegant car” concept developed by Ross Compton, and it has been selected as the Golden Winner in the 2017-2018 A’ Design Award for the vehicle, mobility and transportation design category.

Compton took inspiration from classic Formula 1 race cars as he believes that new exotic cars are all the same. The Avanti Gara is not meant to be a practical daily car, nor is it the most technologically advanced. It is here to deliver a stylish racing experience for those who are more concerned about the appearance of the car than track times. The design features plenty of aerodynamic enhancements, including a front splitter, rear fins and a rear spoiler that houses extra tail lighting. Under the aluminium body and frame is an engine that delivers a 0-60 mph acceleration in 3.2 seconds. The detailed specifications have not been announced, but it is placed right behind the driver’s seat making for a great weight balance.
